Don’t Be a Victim of Your Blessings.

“Every blessing ignored becomes a curse,” so alluded Paulo Coelho. To an anonymous source, “Every curse has a blessing, and every blessing has a curse.” Let’s reflect on not letting your blessings work against you.
Do you know that failure to appropriately manage your blessings can make you a victim of the blessings? In today’s world, there are many that would have fared better if they were not exposed to certain blessings. Look at the many that have perished, missed their calling, got lost, etc. due to the drunken stupor of “I’ve arrived.” Consider the failure of many to effectively manage their blessings to sustain the blessing. Like light in a dark room attracts flies, so does blessings attract the good, the bad, and the ugly. Like a tree with many fruits that attracts “sticks,” blessings attract many “intruders.” As a source noted, “Even when you have positive things in life, like good health, wealth, or supportive relationships, you shouldn’t let them become a burden or a reason to complain, instead, actively appreciate and utilize them to your advantage and the benefit of others; essentially, avoid letting your blessings become a source of negativity or complacency in your life.”
So, enhance your capacity to manage your blessings so they don’t become curses. Know that life comes with many beautiful elements. However, your true blessings lie not in the presence of the blessings but in the perception, recognition, and management of the blessings. Are you blessed with physical beauty and an attractive look? Appreciate goodness for the blessings. However, be alert that the beauty may be an open invitation to the good, bad, and ugly in the society. Ill-managed, you may become a victim of your beauty. Are you highly educated and intelligent? Reject the temptation to look down on others that may not be as endowed as you, or else pride may lead you to a fall. Do you have a large social media followership? Don’t feel envious of people who seem to have more free time. Recognize and celebrate goodness for the benefits of your strong connections. Or has your large followership triggered a sense of “I’ve arrived” making you post obscene, private, or other items that portray you negatively? Beware so that you don’t become a victim of your blessings. Are you blessed with a position of authority or power? Beware that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Do you have a special talent or something that is working so well for you? Try to remain humble and recognize that a blessing that is poorly managed may turn against you.
As you step out, don’t take any blessing for granted or make it trigger a feeling of being better than others. Deploy your blessings well to attract more blessings. Never forget that a blessing that is poorly managed is a curse.
