
Top Nigerians from all walks of life are expected in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State this Saturday, to celebrate one of the police officers that was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG, Akaninyene Ifebem Ezima.
Ezima, according to a statement by a social elites club-the Great Circle Club, is being honoured for his professionalism, commitment to national service under the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, outstanding achievements and in recognition of his new status in the Force.
The statement said Ezima has been exceptional in the discharge of his duties since the club got to know him, hence their decision to roll out the drums in celebration, having been recognised and promoted to the enviable status of AIG.
Dignitaries expected at the occasion include the Akwa Ibom Commissioner of Police,president of the club, Peter Nnamseh, the Secretary, Henry Egbe and the Akwa Ibom State chairman of African Action Congress, AAC, Utip Etiebiet, while Efremfon Ekeke will chair the occasion.
Chairman of the reception planning committee, Udofot Iwatt, who signed the statement said the event would be a convergence of like-minded fellows who are committed to fostering to nation building.
Ezima is a native of Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State and was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on 18th May, 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.
He has served as Police Public Relations Officer, Edo State Command, Divisional Police Officer in Akwa Ibom, Imo and Abia States, Investigator at Financial Malpractices Investigation Unit, FMIU, Lagos and he has been the sectional head, Special Fraud Unit, SFU, Miverton Road, Ikoyi.
He was the pioneer PPRO SFU Lagos, Head of Advance Fee Fraud section, EFCC Headquarters, Abuja, pioneer coordinator of courses, EFCC Academy, Karu, Abuja, Zonal Head EFCC Ibadan and Lagos, Zonal Head, EFCC Benin and Kano, Pioneer AC Admin and Pioneer DC Zonal CID Zone 17, Akure and currently serves as AIG Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Center.
