A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC, in Rivers State, Elder Gabriel C. Amaewhule has blamed the immediate past governor of the state, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo for the crisis rocking the state.
Amaewhule also noted that claims of him dumping APC for PDP was not true, but affirmed that he would retire from politics if Wike joins APC.

In an exclusive interview with TNN, the APC chieftain stressed that, “I am in the APC, I will not move, because Nyesom cannot move to the APC, and that is why I cannot move out, he is in PDP yet want to control APC, but he cannot.
“If Wike moves to APC I retire back, I will not move to any party, because I cannot be jumping from pillar to pole, I have integrity in my life, I cannot because of Nyesom and run away from APC, instead of going to PDP where I dumped already, I will come back home and become a clergy man fully.”

He described the political battle between the governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Wike, as an ugly development.
According to him, “It is very, very ugly, very ugly in the sense that, somebody cannot be riding a bicycle while another person is holding break, that is the scenario in Rivers State.

“Sim is the executive governor of Rivers State as assumed, because he was not duly elected by us, but we have assumed him, and the court have authenticated him, but how can Nyesom be at the background controlling everything and everybody, frustrating an incumbent governor that it now appears like he does not longer has right to take decisions, that is the problem in Rivers State.
“Wike should take his hands off, let the governor rule by his knowledge and wisdom given to him by God, let him concentrate on the FCT as a minister and leave the state alone to rest, that is my stand.

“The problem in Rivers State is the handpicking of leadership, Sim was not elected by the people that he wants to rule, so the person that handpicked him wants to dictate for him, that is the problem, that is what we are suffering, but it is not a must that when you handpick someone you must spoon feed the person, you can only take a horse to the river, you will not force the horse to drink water. Wike is now forcing the horse to drink water which is against the ethics of politics. Rivers State is in problem because of dictatorship.”
Amaewhule added that, “both those impeaching and those impeached are all birds of a feather, they are the same, all of them were all handpicked, but if they can wake up by themselves and feel that Rivers people deserves better, kudos to them.

“I support every impeachment that will better Rivers State and her people, any impeachment that will bring about the desired change in Rivers State, I support it one hundred percent.
“These people are just busy representing Nyesom, instead of the people of Rivers State, they are there representing him and that is why Sim does not have the required freedom for him to work for Rivers people.

“We are tired of this kind of leadership where the predecessor dictates what the successor does and will not do, for me, if this continues, the deputy governor should take over, yes, better for us.
“I am in the APC, I will not move, because Nyesom cannot move to the APC, and that is why I cannot move out, he is in PDP yet want to control APC but he cannot.
“If Wike moves to APC I retire back, I will not move to any party, because I cannot be jumping from pillar to pole, I have integrity in my life, I cannot because of Nyesom and run away from APC, instead of going to PDP where I dumped already, I will come back home and become a clergy man fully.”
