Hundreds of youths in Rivers State have taken over the Moscow Road axis of Port Harcourt, on a protest, against the impeachment of the governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara.
This is happening shortly after the declaration of the removal of the Majority Leader of the house, Edison Ehie, believed to be Fubara’s loyalist, to pave the way for impeachment processes against Sim Fubara.
The youths who kept echoing, “If Wike put body, em go collect. We will revolt Wike to the end. And that governor is Sim Fubara. To hell with Wike. Make him put body.” are alleged to be from Opobo and Ijaw.
Their demand was for the former governor, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, Minister of FCT to allow his successor govern the state without any interference. Also, that the attempt to impeach the incumbent governor be halt immediately.

It was purported that the explosion that rocked the Rivers State House of Assembly complex, on Sunday night, was not unconnected to the move to stop the impeachment process of Fubara.
According to reports, some suspected arsonists threw an explosive into the complex around 10pm, causing a fire outbreak in the building.
There is believed to be an emerging political crisis between the governor, Fubara and his predecessor, Wike.
Unconfirmed report has it that the attempt to impeach the incumbent governor, was following an alleged order by his predecessor, Wike.
