The Commander of the 6 Division Garrison, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General A.A Bello, has charged corps members deployed to Rivers State to live a life of discipline, patriotism, and integrity in order to positively influence both their personal growth and the nation’s development.

Bello gave this charge on Tuesday when he visited the 2025 Batch B Stream II corps members in camp at the National Youth Service Corps NYSC permanent orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam Tai.

He described the corps members as the future of Nigeria, stating that “Nigerians expect much from them as citizens see them as the beacon of hope and shapers of a new Nigeria.”

Meanwhile, in response to the advocacy efforts of the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, urging council chairmen to leave a lasting impact on the success of NYSC programs and activities in the state, the chairmen of Eleme and Ahoada East LGAs have pledged their support for the scheme.

Mr. Solomon Abuba Ochoma, Chairman of Ahoada East, gave the assurance of his administration’s committed to promptly construct a suitable corps lodge within the council.

Ochoma also promised to prioritize the welfare and security of all corps members posted to the area.

Further, he volunteered to sponsor the football finals of the orientation exercise.

Similarly, Chairman of Eleme LGA, Chief Ollormate Ollor, has ordered immediate renovation of the temporary corps lodge; NCCF Corps Lodge, used by corps members in the council.

Ollor also directed that round-the-clock security be provided to prevent theft of corps members’ personal belongings. Additionally, he mandated the replacement of worn-out mattresses in the lodge to enhance the comfort of the corps members.

The LG boss assured NYSC that completing and inaugurating the long-abandoned permanent corps lodge in the council would be a top priority for his administration.
