Only a few days after the Rivers State governor, Sim Fubara threatened to deal with permanent secretaries who aided the emergency rule administrator in perpetuating illegal transactions in the state, the state secretariat where civil servants operate from has gone up in flames.
The incident occurred on Monday, creating panic in the state and fuelling speculations as to the cause of the fire.
As at the time of filing this report, information were sketchy. But Rivers people who live around Moscow Road and the Township area of Port Harcourt thronged the area to behold the gory sight.
Men of the state fire service had not arrived the scene as at the time of this report.
