Rivers Corps Members Jubilate After Army Chief’s Visit To NYSC Camp

In a bid to express their commitment to the welfare of corps members posted to Rivers State, the Garrison Commander, 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Brig Gen Sani Ahmed, has pledged to support the National Youth Service Corps NYSC, orientation exercise with diesel and camp maintenance.

Ahmed made this pledge on Thursday, when he visited the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam Tai.

He commended the neatness of the camp environment and applauded the corpers for their high level of discipline.

The army commander further assured that the command would remain committed to the welfare of corpers.

Also, the administrator of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area of the state, has donated food items to camp officials and corps members at the orientation camp.

The administrator who was represented by Mr. Emmanuel Hezekiah donated two bags of rice, three bags of Garri, 18 cartons of indomie noodles, three cartons of groundnut oil, three cartons of fish and three cartons of chicken.

He described the gesture as a token of love of the administrator for the corps members and assured them of better days.

On his part, the state NYSC Coordinator, Mr Moses Oleghe, thanked the garrison commander for the visit despite his busy schedule.

He appealed for the administrator’s support towards the building of a new camp clinic.

To the Ogu/Bolo administrator, Oleghe commended him and his people for their support to the success of the camping exercise.
