Nwonyi’s response was following the claim by a certain Mrs. Calister Ugiri, that her 27-year-old son, Onyekachi Ugiri, was allegedly killed, with his corpse still missing.
Calister in an interview called on the state Police command to produce the dead body of her son reported to have been among the youths involved in the protest, on Tuesday. She also cried out to Fubara for help.
It is said that Onyekachi was among the four victims that had a bullet injury, while the other three were rushed to the hospital, he was said to have died as he was shot directly on his head.

Nwonyi in an interview, on Friday, described as unacceptable, “violence, or make environment or the city unbearable for other members of the public who would want to go about their normal businesses, it’s unacceptable.
“So I would use this opportunity because what you should know is the defense, protection of lives and property is sacrosanct to everybody. Whether you are a politician, you are ordinary citizens, it’s our duty to protect you.
“So, to the best of our ability, we will not want people to lose their lives because that is what we swore to do and we will not also like people to lose their property and that is what we have sworn to do, and police have just done what they are expected to do and what is our legal duty to do.
“As far as I am concern based on your question here, so far so good, those who were found on those issues that happened on that day, have seen been screened and charged to court and that is what it’s all about.
“And during the course of that we never saw anything that has to do with either anybody dying.”
