A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Hon. Gabriel Amaewhule Chukwu, has congratulated the immediate past governor of the state, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, on his appointment as the Minister of FCT.
Speaking in an interview with TNN, Amaewhule expressed the need for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to make Wike either the minister for works or power and energy.

The APC chieftain believed that the former Rivers governor should be in a ministry where more states in the federation can benefit and not just the Federal Capital Territory.
According to him, “our former governor, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, being a son of Rivers State, he deserves such appointment as the son of the state. Considering the portfolio given unto him as a minister of FCT, I feel he has no business to do with the federal capital territory development, if should have been given appointment where other state would have benefitted from his wisdom but not to particularize it in FCT. And that is to show they are relegating him in the nation.
“Well, I congratulate him for appointment well deserved, wish him well in the future endeavours and also advice, he should limit his aggressiveness, that have created a lot of enmity for him even though he sees it as popularity, it has created more enmity to him, even the scripture tells us to talk less but listen more. Whatever you speak will be used for you, either in favour or against.”
He urged Wike to be able to, “accommodate people and stop his way of aggressiveness, even our creator; God is not aggressive to us, even upon our sin, he normally show mercy and ofcourse the bible crowned it by saying to err is human to forgive is divine.

“Our former governor has no spirit of forgiveness, he should learn how to forgive and forget about the past, he bear grudges more than required and that is not what is meant for a leader.
“Finally I say well done for appointment well deserved, but that appointment is meant for people of APC not PDP, he took what belongs to APC, but nevertheless, he is a Rivers man, so let him work and develop Rivers State more than what he had done before.”

He further added that the former governor, “was supposed to be in ministry of works, power and energy where many will benefit, not a state, because FCT, your work there is to take care of the federal capital, you cannot extend to other states.”
