High Expectations As A’Ibom LG holds Economic Summit

An economic and development platform for the people of Ukanafun Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State is being organised by critical stakeholders from the area, to galvanise resources towards boosting their economy.

The first of its kind confab tagged Ukanafun Economic and Development Summit is scheduled to hold in the local government on June 1 this year.

Jointly organised with the Ukanafun Local Government Council of Akwa Ibom State, it has as theme, “Repositioning Ukanafun for Sustainable Development.”

The 24-member Economic Development Committee which is headed by Elder, (Dr.) Idongesit D. Udom and which was inaugurated on February 4, 2021 by the Local Government Chairman, Pastor Godwin Inyieng, is a Pan-Ukanafun Eminent Citizens Group, established to partner the Council’s administration in forging a new template for sustainable development in the area.

A statement by the Chairman of the Summit Publicity Committee, Mr. Aniekpeno Mkpanang indicates that the summit will hold at Ukanafun Local Government Council Hall, Ikot Akpa Nkuk by 10 a.m.

During the summit, Mr. Idorenyin Isaac, a fellow of the Chartered Institute of  Personnel and Development will present a paper on Education and Capacity building for Ukanafun’s sustainable development; ImoAbasi Jacob, Chairman of Ibom Air will talk on Entrepreneurship as the catalyst for Ukanafun’s sustainable development while Aniekan Willie of Mantra Protection Solution Ltd will present a paper on Security – An enabler for investment and sustainable development.

The outline of programme for the Summit shows that His Excellency, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel is expected to officially flag off the Summit while Barr. Aniekan Ukpanah, the Managing partner of Udo Udoma & Bello-Osagie Legal Practitioners will make a Thematic Presentation on the summit which will be moderated veteran journalist, Mr. Ray Ekpu.
