FG Appreciates C’River Rep Over Contributions To Establishment Of Monotechnic

The federal government has expressed appreciation to the House of Representatives member from Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency of Cross River State, Dr Alex Egbona, for his contributions towards the establishment of the Ekureku campus of the National Institute of Leather And Science Technology.
It was Egbona who initiated the idea and approached the monotechnic for the establishment of the leather institute in his constituency, as it would provide job opportunities for his people and also serve as a training ground for those willing to be taught leather works.
Two buildings were renovated and reconstructed in line with the institute’s specifications by the lawmaker. In a letter of appreciation on behalf of the institute’s director-general by the assistant registrar, Mrs Mary Peter Udo, the federal government said Egbona’s contributions invaluable towards the birth and sustenance of the school.
The letter reads in part: “I write to express our profound appreciation over the declaration of the Ekureku, Cross River State NILEST extension centre.
“Indeed, your contributions have been invaluable to the institute. Specifically, we want to recognize your outstanding contribution of two buildings presented to the Ekureku NILEST centre which is instrumental towards achieving our goals.
“We encourage you to keep up the excellent work and we will continue to support your growth and development in the Ekureku community.”
A formal date for resumption of academic activities is yet to be announced by the institute. But an administrator has since been named.
