Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Company Limited has warned beneficiaries of the recently concluded Indorama Host Community Skill Acquisition Programme, against selling their starter packs.
This was contained in a statement by the General Manager, Government and Community Relations, Indorama Petrochemicals Company Limited, Kendrick Oluka, on Monday.
Indorama gave this warning following a report that indicated that some beneficiaries were engaged in the sale of the starter packs provided to them.
The company declared the action as unacceptable, noting that it’s a direct abuse of the empowerment initiative designed to uplift youths.
Oluka noted that, “these starter packs, valued in millions of Naira, were issued strictly to support beneficiaries to be self-reliant and productive after the training.
“The company views this conduct as unacceptable and a direct abuse of the empowerment initiative designed to uplift our youths. Accordingly, Indorama has resolved that all host community representatives who nominated the affected beneficiaries will be invited for an urgent engagement to address this development.
“Beneficiaries will undergo a mandatory post-training verification and assessment to confirm that the starter packs issued to them are being used for their intended purpose.
“Any beneficiary found to have sold or diverted their starter pack will be required, without exception, to recover and return the items to Indorama and will be subjected to further administrative actions as deemed appropriate.
“Indorama remains steadfast in its commitment to youth empowerment and sustainable community development. However, discipline, accountability, and respect for corporate goodwill must be upheld to preserve the integrity of these interventions.”
