Anglican Church Honours Rivers Speaker

Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martin Chike Amaewhule, has been installed as a “Beacon of Hope” by the Diocese of Evo (Anglican Communion) Christian Men’s Fellowship.

The installation ceremony took place on Sunday at the Chapel of Grace and Knowledge Church, ACMG, Elelenwo, Port Harcourt.

The ceremony was part of the Diocesan Christian Men’s Fellowship’s 16th Anniversary Celebration and Induction Service.

The Bishop of the Diocese of Evo, Rt. Rev. Innocent Ordu, delivered a sermon, emphasizing the importance of commitment to God’s service.

He charged members of the Men’s Fellowship to remain dedicated to their faith.

The Speaker, represented by Dr. James Sogulu Noble, Director of Publication, expressed gratitude to the church and the Fellowship leadership for the honor bestowed upon him.

He acknowledged the vital role the church plays in nurturing spiritual growth, fostering moral values, and promoting social cohesion.

Amaewhule encouraged members of the fellowship to reaffirm their commitment to service to the church and the community as they celebrate the 16th anniversary.

He pledged to contribute to the growth of the church and the Fellowship.

The service featured several activities, including the induction of new members into the Diocesan Christian Men’s Fellowship, cutting of the anniversary cake, and the installation of the Beacons of Hope.

The formal opening of the Fathers’ Week activities was also part of the ceremony.

The Diocese of Evo Christian Men’s Fellowship launched a fund-raising drive for the completion of the Ebenezer Church building during the service.
