Coalition of over 1,000 youth groups, known as the PDP Youth Vanguard for Renewed Hope, has expressed total support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
In a statement signed on Sunday by the group’s National President, Charles Onoja, hailed Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, as a “lion of Nigerian politics” and the “greatest political asset” produced by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in recent times.
“Wike is a lion of Nigerian politics and the greatest asset the PDP has ever produced in the interest of national unity. His declaration to lead President Tinubu’s 2027 campaign in Rivers State is not just political news, it’s a masterstroke,” Onoja said.
According to Onoja, Tinubu has earned the trust of many young Nigerians through his policies and actions.
Wike’s decision to support Tinubu’s re-election efforts in Rivers State has sparked a nationwide debate.
However, the youth coalition has thrown its full weight behind both leaders, asserting that national interest must trump party lines.
Onoja described Wike’s decision as an act of patriotism and rare political courage.
The coalition believes that Tinubu has outperformed expectations and delivered on his promises.
Onoja stated, “This is not about defecting to APC, it’s about standing with the truth.”
He added: “President Tinubu has outperformed expectations. Young Nigerians, especially in the North, are no longer swayed by tired party propaganda. We want leadership that works — and Tinubu has delivered.”

To demonstrate their support, the coalition said they have commenced grassroots mobilization for Tinubu’s 2027 campaign across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones and that structures are being activated in all 774 local government areas, with town hall meetings, student engagements, religious sensitization drives, and social media outreach campaigns already underway.
The coalition’s plan, titled “10 Million Youth Votes for Renewed Hope,” is a full-scale movement aimed at mobilizing young Nigerians to support Tinubu’s re-election bid.
According to Onoja, the group will soon present its blueprint to President Tinubu and Minister Wike at a youth summit in Abuja.
“Our plan, titled 10 Million Youth Votes for Renewed Hope, is more than a slogan. It is a full-scale movement, and we will soon present our blueprint to President Tinubu and Minister Wike at a youth summit in Abuja,” Onoja disclosed.
The coalition has also warned the PDP leadership not to attack Wike, stating that alienating him would only drive more young voters away from the party. Instead, the PDP should listen to Wike, who has his finger on the pulse of millions of young Nigerians.
The coalition reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Tinubu’s administration and ensuring that Nigerian youths play a leading role in shaping the country’s political future.
“Come 2027, we will speak loudly with our PVCs. Tinubu has earned our respect. Wike has shown us the way. Together, they are the team Nigeria needs and the youth will stand solidly behind them,” Onoja declared.
