2 min readA 44-year old widow, Daughter Tamunokuro Onitsha, residing in Bolou-Orua town in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State has refuted the claims of witchcraft attacks on her Seventy-four year old father, Onitsha Anthony on Tuesday 28 September, 2021.
A statement made available to journalists in Yenagoa indicates that she regretted all her ill conceived actions that have dented the image of her father particularly burning down his house in Bolou-Orua.

She said that the action was not premeditated but was taken out of provocation and tendered unreserved apology to her father for forgiveness.
The widow stated that she is proud to have Onitsha Anthony as a father whom God used as a channel to bring her into existence adding that her misguided action amounted to questioning the authority of God.

She noted that as a mere mortal, she was not infallible, adding that disagreement between father and daughter was bound to occur but regretted why she went the extreme to cause her father much pain and loss of his reputation built over the years.
The remorseful widow expressed commitment to abide by all the terms of undertaken spelt out by her father not to tresspass, threat of arrest, intimidation and harassment. She appealed to her father to have enough space in his heart to forgive her.
The mediator between Daughter Tamunokuro Onitsha and Onitsha Anthony, Chief Abama Torukerigha who is a relative of the family appealed to both parties as one family and allow peace to reign.
“However, despite these avoidable setbacks, despite the human errors that have pushed us several years behind our contemporaries, we still have reasons to celebrate.”
