There Mustn’t Be Blood Bath In Rivers, S/South Elder Statesman Begs Youths

An elder statesman in the South-South region, His Highness Anabs Sara Egbe, has told youths of Rivers State not to allow themselves to be used to cause mayhem in the state in the face of the lingering political feud in the state.
Sara-Egbe said this while speaking with journalists in Port Harcourt, on Monday, on the political crisis rocking the state.

Speaking on the need for peace in the state, he charged residents not to take undue advantage of the situation to cause crisis.
The elder statesman who also spoke on the effect of the political crisis between the immediate past governor, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and his successor, Sir Siminialayi Fubara,  warned against any situation that would lead to a blood bath in the state.

He urged Wike and Fubara to grant audience to the Rivers Elders and Leaders Forum, under the leadership the leadership a former governor of the state, Chief Rufus Ada George.
Sara-Egbe expressed the belief that meeting with the elders would end the faceoff.

According to him, “as elders our concern is peace, we want peace in the state, we want to ensure that there is peace. Everybody should go and do his own job without being molested.
“We don’t want anybody to take undue advantage of the situation and cause mayhem in Rivers State. We have seen things like that in the past, we don’t want any bloodbath, but the truth must be told; that is why we are here to say the truth.

“We wanted the both parties to speak with us (Rivers Elders and Leaders Forum) so that we will be able to identify the problem and resolve it. As at now, none of them has done that, but we are still asking everybody to be calm until we are able to find solution.”
