Sheathe Your Sword, Support Fubara, MOSIEND Charges Rivers Politicians

A renowned socio-cultural pressure group in the oil rich Niger Delta region, has called on politicians of Rivers State extraction to sheathe their swords and support the incumbent governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara.
The Movement for the Survival of Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta MOSIEND, made this call following the political crisis in the state.

MOSIEND believes that if politicians unit, it would bring about the development and common good of the state.
National President of the renowned socio-cultural pressure group in the region, Mr. Kennedy Tonjo-West urged the political class not to divide the state for selfish interest.

He charged politicians to support Fubara for what he described as the enthronement of peace and development across the state.
Tonjo-West stated this in a release made available to TNN.
The statement read, “following the political crisis in Rivers State between the Executive and the Legislatures, a frontline mass mobilization organisation in the region, the Movement for the Survival of Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta region MOSIEND, has called on politicians of Rivers extraction to sheathe their swords and support Governor Siminialayi Fubara for the development of the State.

“The mass mobilization organisation also called on the political class not to divide the state for selfish interest, but rather rally around Governor Siminialayi Fubara for the enthronement of peace and development across the state
“MOSIEND appeal to the elders and youths of the state to rally round the Governor for the Socio economy transformation of the state. The political differences, if any, between the Governor and the legislature will make them to understand themselves better and grow stronger in the governance of the state.

“Yes, the crisis will make them understand themselves better and grow stronger politically and chart a positive course to developing the state and the region at large.”
It added that, “We condemn the destruction of any public property situated anywhere in the state and the recent burning of the Rivers State House of Assembly Complex RSHA by whoever the politicians hired to perpetuate this dastardly act.
“The complex and every other public property is built by tax payers and they do not belong to the individuals they are fighting for or against.
“To rebuild the complex, it will take huge sums of money from the tax payers’ money which could have been channeled to other areas of development in the state. Let the tenets of separation of power be respected by all, because that is the spirit of democracy.
“We urge Rivers youths to shun violence and desist from being used by politician to foment troubles but chart a positive course to enhance peace and unity in the State.
