Administrator of Emohua Local Government Area, Mr. Franklin Ajinwo, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity and promoting robust development in the area.
This commitment was emphasized during a security meeting with stakeholders from the 14 wards across the local government.
The meeting aimed to brainstorm on the challenges facing the area and proffer solutions to some of the problems identified.

Ajinwo noted that insecurity is a major concern in some communities but assured that Emohua cannot be seen as a flashpoint again. He emphasized the need for more synergy between communities and security outfits to curb crimes.
The Local Government Administrator frowned upon communities that aid and abet miscreants, stressing the importance of peaceful coexistence for infrastructural development. He reiterated that destruction of projects amounts to waste of resources and has a negative impact on the people.
“I want to sincerely tell you that one of the major issues we have is insecurity, it is a concern in some communities in the area but I can assure you that Emohua cannot be seen as a flashpoint again and our people can move about their normal activities now including safety while travelling” he stated.
Ajinwo also charged the communities to strengthen their traditional heritage to prevent hijack and interference from marauders.
Some of the issues highlighted as plaguing the communities include lack of logistics and support for private security apparatus, illegal dredging activities, internal wranglings amongst traditional stools, unemployment, and unskilled youths.
Other challenges include activities of cattle rustlers, lack of portable water, lack of properly equipped schools, inaccessibility to quality healthcare, and poor road networks.
He pledged to address the needs of the communities and thanked them for their visit. He lauded areas that were peaceful and admonished them to preserve the tempo.
The Administrator also commended the stakeholders for their presence and contributions to the meeting.
The meeting was attended by prominent traditional rulers, including Nne Nwe Eli Emohua XIII, His Majesty Ohna Sergeant Abuse (DSSRS), and Paramount Ruler of Emohua Kingdom, who was represented by Ohna Victor Ndata.
Other attendees included His Royal Highness Eze Goodluck Eleni Ekenta XV Nye Nwe Eli Oduoha Ogbakiri and top government officials.
The Head of Local Government Administration, Mrs. Nume Raymond, Secretary to the Council, Dr. Justice Chigonum, and the Head Personnel Management were also present at the meeting. Their presence underscored the government’s commitment to addressing the challenges facing the area.
In a related development, the Administrator of Emohua Local Government Council, Barr. Franklin Ajinwo, has praised the people of Rumuekpe for their commitment to peace and unity.
This commendation follows his successful intervention in a potentially volatile situation, where a security intelligence report indicated a possible protest against multinational oil companies operating in the area.
The protest was sparked by perceived neglect in community development and unresolved grievances. The report highlighted rising tensions involving several interest groups and factions within the community.
However, through swift administrative intervention and dialogue, Ajinwo was able to de-escalate tensions and restore calm.
Ajinwo attributed the success of the intervention to the community’s mature and united front. He particularly noted their respect for the traditional stool of HRH Eze Christian Amadi Evekwuru, despite internal disagreements.
“These are sensitive matters that could have thrown the entire Rumuekpe clan into serious turmoil. But through swift administrative intervention and dialogue, we were able to de-escalate tensions and restore calm.”
The Administrator lauded all factions for agreeing to lay aside differences and work collectively toward peace. He commended the people of Rumuekpe for showing leadership and restraint, setting an example for other communities.
“I must thank the people of Rumuekpe for showing leadership and restraint. By embracing dialogue over division, you have set an example for other communities.”
Security agencies were also praised for their prompt and professional response to the emerging situation and urged them to remain vigilant and proactive to prevent any recurrence of the situation. He warned that any group or individual who reneges on the resolutions reached during the meeting would face the full force of the law.
