Youth leader of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon Godwill Ike Amadi JP, has commended the efforts of the Rukpokwu Electronic Media, REM, for creating an umbrella body that units people of the community who are in the media industry.
Ike-Amadi who is also the coordinating youth leader of the 23 local government area of the state gave this commendation when the coordinator of the media crew, Wanyanwu L. Winner led her members on a courtesy visit to his office at Rumuoehiewo, Rukpokwu, in Rivers State, last Saturday.
He said, “If we don’t have the media there will be crisis in politics. I deeply appreciate you all for your vision, you know, prior to this time I had the vision to become a press man.
“Let me advice that whatever we are doing or pursuing, our first aim and objectives should be to project Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the Governor of Rivers State. I thank the governor for his tremendous achievements; he has reformed the state such that even the people from Hausa are screaming Wike for 2023, to replicate his good deeds in Rivers State at the Centre, the call dominated Abuja during the PDP National Convention.
“Given his track records, I and my family and the people that I know will support Wike for any higher assignment. I want to also use this occasion to eulogise other leaders from Ward 14 which I hold at very high esteem, the likes of Hon. Chukwuemeka Aaron, Sir, Dr. Clifford Ndu Walter JP, Hon. Chris Ogbonna and Hon. Chief Lucky Amadi amongst others.”
Ike-Amadi while pledging his support for the Rukpokwu Electronic Media, especially in their forthcoming media summit scheduled for first week of December also advised, “I want to advise the people of Ward14 to love their brothers and do away with envy, greed and give support to their kinsmen, power comes from God and nobody can force himself into power except from God.”
Earlier in his address, the Coordinator Wanyanwu appreciated the PDP youth leader for being accessible. He said, “indeed you are a leader with an open heart who has a listening ear and carries everyone along. Today media has come to play a major role in Nigeria politics and anybody who overlook the media currently is making a grave error.
“We came to inform you of our media summit to mark our end of year activities; the aim is to train the team towards acquiring relevant and requisite skills that will help us in life and for purposeful reportage. Starter packs are envisaged for participants at the end of the submit.”
The group also presented a gift of a portrait to the youth leader which they said is a symbol of their love and appreciation to him.
Present during the visit was Mr. Chris Manunyewhor among others.
