PDP Still A United Family – Party Leader
2 min readLeader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in ward 14, Chris Ogbonna, JP, has charged the newly inaugurated executives to prioritize uniting the party in the ward.
Ogbonna gave this charge during the ward chapter congress of the party held last weekend at the civic center, Eneka community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
He expressed satisfaction over the turn- out of party members in the ward, Rukpokwu and Eneka, as well as the way and manner the congress was conducted. According to him, “what is happening here today is our usual ward congress of the PDP ward 14 chapter. It has been a good one as you can see with your eyes, it’s a very peaceful exercise, what happened here today is to send a signal that we are still a united family.
“I feel very happy, excited that the transition is a peaceful one. I am charging them to ensure that they carry the party to a new level, to the next level of performance and victory.”
The congress which was duly attended by leaders of the party in the ward including, Lucky Amadi, Okey Waka, Ken Wiche, Chief Frank Emm, among several others had Chukwuemeka Owhor emerge as the new ward chairman with a total of 151 votes.
Other executive members include the vice chairman, Junior mike with 120 votes, ward secretary ThankGod Wuzor, 115 votes, assistant secretary, Joy W. Ogbonda with 85 votes, publicity secretary, Victor Nyekwe with 70 votes, treasurer, I.K Chinda with 91 votes, youth leader, Ovunda Owunnah with 89 votes.
Simeon Chukwu emerged the organizing secretary with 102 votes, Sunny Nnadi emerged financial secretary, Mirian Frank, auditor, Kenneth Amadi, legal adviser, Roselyn Amadi, women leader, Ex- officio 1, Nnamdi Aaron, Ex-officio 2, Charity Nyekwu, Ex- Officio 3, Elizabeth Worlu, Ex Officio 4, Chisa Worlu, Ex- Officio 5, Stanley Walter.
Speaking with TNN in an exclusive interview, the out-gone women leader of the ward, Lady Emilia Lucky Amadi, JP, said “leadership is of the mind. For you to be a good leader, you must be a good follower.
“I advise them to be committed, commitment is paramount as far as leadership is concern, they must be down to earth to get the list, grassroots, because some of our members are not happy, so there is much for them to do.”
