Otu Approves New Road Projects Across C’River

Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, has approved additional road construction and rehabilitation contracts to strengthen infrastructure development across the state.

The projects are part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to upgrade major roads, address failed sections, and improve mobility in Calabar and other strategic areas.

Several road works have already been completed, while others are currently at different stages of execution.

The state government said the road programme aligns with Governor Otu’s plan to modernise the transportation network and support economic activities.

Authorities also disclosed that more than 20 additional roads have been approved for construction, though they are not included in the current list.

Key ongoing and completed projects include:
Rehabilitation of critical sections of Parliamentary Road, Calabar Municipality.
Emergency intervention at failed sections of Watt Market Roundabout.
Emergency repairs on failed culvert and road pavement along Chamley Road, Calabar South.

Emergency intervention at failed sections of Lemna Dump Site, Calabar Municipality.

Remediation works at Marina Resort gully, Calabar South.

Emergency repairs on failed portions of Nde Aling–Ikom–Ogoja–Katsina Ala Road, Ikom.

Repairs on failed sections of Ogoja–Katsina Ala Road at Ukpe Ndok and Ndok Junction axes, Ogoja.

Residents have been urged to track the progress of the projects and provide feedback to ensure quality delivery and accountability.
