Newly Elected AUPCTRE-NYSC Chair Vows To Run Inclusive Govt

Newly Elected chairman of the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Service Employees, AUPCTRE, NYSC Cross River Branch, Ogban Ogban Ukweni has vowed that his administration will not be autocratic or dictatorial.
Ogban said this in his acceptance speech shortly after the election at the NYSC Cross River state secretariat in Calabar. He assured members of the union that he will be their voice and ensure that all their requests and agitations over the years will receive positive attention. He appreciated them for finding him worthy to serve in that capacity.
“I want to appreciate everyone for your support and votes which to me is a show of your love, trust and confident you have in me to lead you. Be assured that I will never betray the trust you have bestowed on me. I will be your voice, I am not going to speak anything on your behalf on my own, whatever you ask me to say on your behalf at the state and national level is what I will say.
“Also know that all your agitaiond and yearnings over the years is going to be a thing of the past. I will ensure that everyone will be carried along. All I seek from you is your undivided support, let is work together as one so that we will take our branch to an enviable height”.

He added that there will not be any form of indolence and laxity which is experienced in most public offices. He said his election will harmonize every member of the union and that he will harness their individual potentials to ensure that the chapter will become a reference point at the state and national levels.
In his charge, State Coordinator of NYSC Cross River, Mohammed Nakamba urged the newly elected executive members of the union to see their election as a service to all and not to undo others. He said they must ensure that they carry everybody along to ensure they succeed, adding that they will only have a successful administration if they work together and always agree. He added that they should see the election as a stepping stone to man higher offices in the future.
He challenged them to work on the common goal of every member of the union and avoid allowing their personal interests overrule the affairs of the union. He also expressed confident in their administration as they have been of proven qualities over the years, assuring them of his support whenever he is called upon.
Other members who were elected into various offices include; Uduak ita who was elected as the vice chairman, Philomena Umoh as the secretary, Queendaline Eyo as the treasurer, Leonard Okpo as the Finsocial Secretary, while Ukpong Samuel and Ignisius Odey were elected as the Public Relations Officer and Assistant Secretary welfare respectively.
