IJF Condemns Attack On Universal Church Int’l, Demands Justice

Iwhuruohna Journalists Forum, IJF has called on the Rivers State Police Command to ensure that judgement is meted on perpetrators who attacked Governor Wike father’s church, Universal Church International. They stressed that the Police should thoroughly investigate to ensure that all those connected to the heinous crime are brought to book.

Chairman of the Forum, Elder Mike Iwezor who made the condemnation during a chat with newsmen in Port Harcourt expressed shock and surprise at the attack. He said the attack was uncalled for considering that it is a house of God.
He bemoaned the unfortunate situation, stating that human beings don’t think about the implications and consequences of their acts. He called on citizens to always consider the consequences of their actions and avoid social vices.
TNN reports that the miscreants who were numbering about five sneaked into the Christain Universal Church International located at 25 Azikiwe Street Mile, 3 Diobu, on Saturday night and detonated the explosives suspected to be dynamite.
It was also gathered that a significant part of the church was damaged by the explosion, which created panic in the area.
“The Police should not only arrest those in connection with the attack but prosecute them after investigation has been concluded”, he added.
