Egbona Joins House of Reps JAMB Monitoring Group

The House of Representatives member for Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency of Cross River State, Dr Alex Egbona has been appointed into the House Committee on Tertiary Education and Services Monitoring Group for the 2021United Tertiary Matriculation Examination conducted by JAMB.
The appointment was conveyed in a letter by the acting director, test administration department of JAMB, Muma Lawal.
By the appointment, Egbona is expected to monitor the JAMB examination which started on Saturday. Egbona is an academic doctor with a passion for teaching and learning.
The letter said he was considered because of his ” background and pedigree of performance which we expect to be brought to bear in the assignment.”

On Saturday, the lawmaker commenced his monitoring assignment at the UNICAL centre where he expressed satisfaction at the orderly conduct of the processes and the behaviour of the students and officials.
He urged the students not to indulge in any act that could destroy their educational ambition. He warned against involvement in sharp practices in the course of the examinations.
Speaking with one of the officials who supervised the examination, Mrs Beatrice Nyiam, the legislator said the officials should he firm and decisive and avoid anything that could tarnish their image.
