Ebri’s Kinsmen: Why We’re Supporting Egbona

Mkpani people of Yakurr Local Government, Cross River State, where a former governor of the state, Chief Clement Ebro comes from, on Sunday said they will support Dr Alex Egbona and get him re-elected into the House of Representatives.
The Obol Lopon of Mkpani, Obol Sunday Obono Okoi, while receiving the speaker of the state house of assembly, Eteng Jones Williams, Egbona and other chieftains of the APC in his palace said Mkpani people will give all their support to the speaker and Egbona as a way of appreciating the duo.
He said since the speaker who is an Mkpani son has been given the APC ticket to contest for the senate, they would queue behind him during the election.
He also said Mkpani people will support Egbona because Ekureku where Egbona comes from, and Mkpani people were one and the same people.
Besides,the monarch said Mkpani has enjoyed so much dividends of democracy, courtesy of Egbona and owed him the support during the election.
The monarch described Egbona as “Okpankpani” (son of Mkpani).
While addressing the traditional ruler and his chiefs, Egbona listed some of the projects and programmes he has attracted to the area to include the renovation of Government Primary School, Mkpani, solar powered street lights, employment and empowerment of youths and women from Mkpani, among many others
He promised to attract other projects to Mkpani when re-elected.
Egbona, the speaker and other APC candidates were given traditional blessings.

The team also visited the clan head of Afaben, Chief Omori Ubi and that of Aduma Obol Dan who also gave them traditional blessings.
At a mega rally afterwards, Egbona addressed the people on his modest achievements in less than four years and thanked them for always supporting him.
He said he would not disappoint them when they renew their mandate on February 25.
