Ahead of the 2023 general elections, women from Igbo Imabana as well as those from the Ikpalegwa community in Abi Local Government Cross River State have thrown their weight behind Dr Alex Egbona’s re-election agenda.
Addressing the women on Wednesday during a campaign tour of the wards, Mrs Ekwele Agube, Commissioner Sustainable Development Goals, charged the women to go out in their numbers and vote for the lawmaker who he called gender-friendly.
She urged the women to focus only on the candidacy of the MP, as he was the only aspirant that could deliver the votes for the party in the next general election.
She said “Today, our candidates for the Senate, the House of Representatives are visiting the community.
“The women of Imabana are affirming the position that we will vote for them massively because with them, our future can be guaranteed in the community andin this constituency.
“You can see from their large turn-out this women I am controlling are affirming; we want Alex to be voted for in the House of Reps and Eteng Jones for Senate. This is because of their antecedent and track records. We feel it is time to reciprocate by sending the MP back to the House of Reps.”
