Community Leaders Bag Award Of Excellence In Rivers

High Chief Gift Worlu, the Okwurume 1 of Eneka Clan has bagged an honorary award as one of the outstanding individuals who has continually invested his resources and time to ensure peace, development and growth in his community, and the entire clan in the Obio / Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Also, the Rumuowuta Family Chairman, Mr. ThankGod Chukwu has received an award of excellence, following his commitment and selfless services to his people and community.

During the presentation by the Community Development Committee, CDC, Chairman of the Rivers community, Mr. Bestman Worlu, described the recipients as exceptional sons of the land, stating that they have through their deeds proven that they have the interest of the people and the community at heart.

The self-styled ‘Youngest Mayor of Eneka’ was accompanied by the Eneka Youth President General, Mr. Cyprian Nyema Nworenwo, former EYC president, ‘Jagaban’ Ugochukwu Amadi, the Director of Socials, Mr. Chukwu Progress N., Mr. Eberechi Chukwu, Jason Okeah, Kenneth Njoh, Progress Nyegonum, Franklin Amadi, Emmanuel Chukwu, Bright Adiele, Wisdom Obediah, Ethelbert Ekwe, Charles Woko, among several others.

According to the CDC chairman, “in this my regime, I vowed not to give award to whom it is not due, and I vowed not to give award because of money, that is my decision. Whoever I present award to, whoever I honour, merit it, is worthy of it and even more.

“I want to reiterate that Okwurume has done well, he has been very supportive; both financially and with his presence, his love for this community is audible. These awards to Okwurume and ThankGod is not to say you have done enough, stop, don’t do again, no, that is not it at all, it is simply to say thank you for all you have done so far, but, there is need for more.

“We are grateful to Okwurume and ThankGod, for your hard work, your contributions, your commitment, your selfless sacrifices, your love, thank you, but don’t be deterred, don’t get tired. We are appreciating you, don’t see it that you have done enough, do more, continue, our most heavenly father will bless you both in Jesus name.”

The youth president also applauded the selfless services rendered by the both recipients, even as he urged them to continue in their might.

Expressing his appreciation, one of the recipients, Okwurume said, “I am indeed grateful, full of joy, I feel encouraged, your action has shown that a prophet can and should be recognized in his hometown, by his people, and I promise not to relent.”

He appealed to sons and daughters of the clan to partner in ensuring the unity and development of Eneka.

On his part, Chukwu thanked the CDC chairman, his executives and the youth body for finding him worthy of such honour.
