Bayelsa Declares War Against Examination Malpractice

The Bayelsa State government says it will not relent in its effort to reduce examination malpractices and give standard education to its citizens.

To this end, the government through the Commissioner for Education, Mr. Gentle Emelah has called on principals and proprietors to intensity efforts in their various schools across the State to reduce all forms of examination sharp practices to the barest minimum.

The commissioner gave the charge during a one-day sensitizatin programme on Computer Based Testing (CBT) organised for principals in the State.

Emelah said the programme tagged “CBT and its effectiveness in Reducing Examination Malpractice in Secondary Schools” was aimed at promoting credible examination processes through introduction of technology.

He urged the principals to
remain focused and committed to credible and reliable administration of secondary schools across the state.

While not feigning ignorance of some challenges facing the secondary school system in the State, the commissioner hinted that government was making frantic efforts to address them.

Emelah commended secondary school principals for their dedication to standard academic performance, urging them to maintain the tempo.

He added that the government was making plans to provide CBT centres in all secondary schools across the State.
