Ayade Re-appoints Adah As COHTECH Provost

Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade has reappointed the current provost of College of Health Technology, COHTECH, Calabar, Dr. Janet Adah for a second term. He said the appointment was a result of the remarkable transformations the college witnessed during her first term. He urged her to ensure the college becomes a world class institution that can compete with global best practices.
The governor made the appointment at the 14th matriculation ceremony of the college where 632 newly admitted students were formally inducted. Ayade who was represented by his deputy, Prof. Ivara Esu remarked that the uniqueness of the event is underscored by the fact that it witnessed the formal admission of another new set of students who shall in record time graduate as professionals in different fields of health management and add value to the health care delivery value chain.

“Let me commend the concerted efforts, energy and zeal displayed by the management and students of the great institution in the wake of the first wave of COVID-19 pandemic. To the matriculating students, let my emphasize that you’re the reason for our gathering here today; this day will only be meaningful and important if you understand your reason of being here in this college, you must shun all acts that will be inimical to your success including violence, membership of secret cult and examination malpractice.

Earlier in her welcome address, Provost of the College, Dr. Janet Adah disclosed that the 14th matriculation ceremony of the college is the first post COVID-19 event which brings in a lot of challenges and changes. She however, congratulated all the matriculating students for their admission into the institution while it is on record that the end-users of the products of the College have testified to the high quality and competencies of the College graduates.
Adah was pleased with the governor for finding her worthy to return as the Provost. She said it is yet another opportunity for her to serve humanity. She assured that her administration will ensure the College retains her stand as one of the best institutions in the country.
In her goodwill message, Commissioner for Health, Dr. Betta Edu who spoke through her representative, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Takon Asu Takon affirmed that the college has one of the best academic programmes among Nigerian colleges of Health.
