Alex Egbona’s Kinsmen Presents Special Easter Gift To Tinubu, Otu

  • As MP Blesses Constituents, Receives NYSC Members

Political stakeholders from Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State, under the umbrella of the Abi Leadership Unity meeting, ended their meeting at Itigidi, headquarters of the local government on Saturday with an endorsement of the president, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu for a second term.

The motion was moved by Dr Alex Egbona, the member representing Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and seconded by the member representing Abi State constituency in the House of assembly, Dr Davis Ettah.

The Easter meeting was hosted by Mr Egbala Bassey, chairman of the local government and anchored by the APC chapter chairman, Pastor Joshua Igboke. It was a platform for the people to chart a course for peace and unity of Abi people particularly in the APC family.

At the meeting, stakeholders agreed with Egbona, that Tinubu and Otu had done well in their first term and deserved to be given the support to return to office for a second term. There was a unanimous voice vote of endorsement.

Egbona who addressed the meeting lamented that there were cracks within the party in the local government and also flayed the spate of social media attacks on elected officials, most of who he said were merely finding faults where they did not exist.

He said there was the need for the party members to work together and support their leaders at all levels to engender development and progress. Egbona used the opportunity to speak on some of the projects the constituency would get from the federal government under the 2025 budget, saying that he was committed to serving the people and ensuring that their interests were protected at all times.

Some of those who also spoke at the meeting were the state commissioner for environment, Moses Osogi, as well as the current council chairman, Egbala Bassey and a former chairman of the local government, Chuks Agube.

Also on Saturday, Egbona visited the Ekureku campus of the Nigerian Institute Of Leather AndScience Technology, where leather products, including belts, bags and shoes are being produced by trainees. Egbona attracted the monotechnic to the constituency.

He had also received members of the NYSC who are serving in Ekureku on a courtesy call to mark the Easter celebration and later presented bags of rice to the constituents, especially the less privileged.

Egbona also paid Easter visits to a former governor of the state, Chief Clement Ebri, the commissioner for special duties, Oden Ewa as well as the Obol Lopon of Ugep, HRM Obol Ofem Eteng Ubana.
