Alleged staff of the Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, have described Dr. Chidi Lloyd’s Toyota Highlander (2016 Model) gift to his vice chairman, Vivian Obiageri Amadi, as eyeservice.
In a post on Thursday, those who claimed to be staff of the LGA expressed displeasure with the council chairman over what they described as deliberately seizing three years and eight months salaries of over 300 genuine workers of the LGA.
Mr Sanwo Santus condemned Lloyd’s supposed action, lamenting that it is too painful to bear.
Last month, the aggrieved alleged staff of the LGA held over three times protest where they accused the council chairman of failing to pay their salaries despite completing the required verification process.
They said the prolonged delay in payment has caused them severe hardship and called on the governor, Siminalayi Fubara and the state house of assembly to intervene in the matter.
Meanwhile, the Emohua council boss insisted that the council does not owe any verified or legitimate staff salaries, urging the protesters to obtain the report of the staff verification exercise ordered by the governor to confirm whether they are genuine employees of the council.
While presenting the vehicle gift on Wednesday, Lloyd reaffirmed his commitment towards inclusive leadership, mutual respect and welfare support, with a view to ensuring effective service delivery in the local government council under his leadership.
He said the little delay in the provision of official vehicles for the vice chairman and other principal officers of the council was as a result of his administration’s commitment to the quality and durability of the vehicles.
He assured that the local government under his leadership will always go for the best and nothing less.
The Emohua council boss prayed for safety and protection on all engagements of the vehicle and the activities of the vice chairman, while wishing her a pleasurable experience with the official vehicle.
In her part, the vice chairman said that by presenting an official vehicle to her, that the council boss has proved his critics wrong.
Amadi also noted that by the model of vehicle presented to her that the chairman has succeeded in setting a new standard for other political office holders.

She prayed God to continuously rain blessings upon him and bring the success of the local government council under his administration.
