120 Pioneer Students to Matriculate at Wigwe Varsity

All is set for the first-ever matriculation ceremony of the Wigwe University, in Rivers State.
The ceremony scheduled for Thursday, November 14, would take place at the Herbert Wigwe Auditorium within the university’s campus in Isiokpo.
A release by the Chairman, Matriculation Ceremony Committee Wigwe University, Dr. Sam Dede, on Wednesday revealed that 120 pioneering students will be matriculating.
Dede described the maiden matriculation ceremony of the institution as a ‘monumental milestone’.
He noted that the State governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, will be the Special Guest of Honour, while the Emir of Kano, His Highness, Khalifa Muhammadu Sanusi II, would present a keynote address.
According to Dede, “the ceremony will officially induct nearly 120 pioneering students into the university, symbolizing the commencement of a new era for higher education in Africa.
“As the first cohort of students to matriculate, these individuals will play a pivotal role in embodying Wigwe University’s mission to train the next generation of fearless, innovative, and thoughtful leaders on the continent.
“The event will be graced by a host of dignitaries, including the governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, who is the Special Guest of Honour. Other notable guests from across the state and beyond will join the occasion to celebrate this landmark achievement in higher education.”
