I Want Justice, Says 65-Year Old Man Accused Of Witchcraft In Rivers

A 65-year-old man, Mr. Monday Reuben is begging the Rivers State Police command to arrest his neighbour for allegedly stabbing him.
Reuben who resides at number 37 Okwelle Street, Mile 2 Diobu, in Port Harcourt, accused his neighbour whose name was given simply as Mr. Nnanna, of stabbing him on his neck and head region.
The victim who had bandages on his jaw and head, revealed in an interview on Wednesday that he had reported the matter to the Azikiwe Police Station.
Reuben, who introduced himself as a caretaker in the area, also stated that Nnanna accused him of practicing witchcraft.
According to report, the accused who is in his early 30s was said to have fled after allegedly committing the crime.
In the interview, the victim explained that, “my name is Mr. Monday Reuben, a caretaker for 37 Okwelle Street, Mile 2 Diobu.
“Nnanna stabbed me when I called him; oh boy them wan pack una sand shift oneside. He said why do I call him? You know know say I be witch, eh carry me for mind, okay that he will kill me and run, he must kill me and run.
“Em go carry bottle break, come and choke me.”
When asked the area he was stabbed, Reuben responded that, “he choke me yesterday for here, near by my throat.
“This early morning around 5 o’clock, very early in the morning, he packed bottles, carried knife, he come again, come enter my house come choke me for head.”
The victim further revealed that, “I am from Akwa Ibom State, I am 65 years. Nnanna from Andoni, I know him Papa as Andoni man.”
Reuben pleaded with the police and security operatives to, “arrest him, ask him what did I do for this thing, what did I do?
“Make him leave me alone. I don make entry for Azikiwe Police Station.”
Meanwhile, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-koko, was yet to react on the incident as at the time of filing this report.
