The federal lawmaker who stated this in a press statement made available to newsmen in Calabar opined that, “the clarification has become necessary to address the misconceptions attributed to Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki who blatantly accused Governor Wike of destroying the PDP in Cross River State.

“If Obaseki is referring to the defection of Governor Ayade as the “destruction” from the PDP in Cross River, then we totally agreed with him. It is rather seen as a good riddance to a bad rubbish. At some points, Governor Ben Ayade became an albatross in our party, when he left there was jubilation. We are better off without Ayade.”

Lawmaker Hands Over Projects

He blasted the Edo State Governor for what he described as complacency towards the party despite the life line accorded him which secured his second term aspirations

Senator Jarigbe also cautioned Obaseki to refrain from any attempt to replicate the disaffection he created in Edo PDP in Cross River, warning that such act will meet a brick wall in the state.

He stressed that Wike deserved accolades and gratitude for his unflinching support to the Party across the country rather than such vitriolic attacks from a supposedly party leader who benefitted immensely from the benevolence of Governor Wike.
