About 3000 youths under the aegis of the Supreme Niger Delta Youths in Politics have declared their readiness to mobilise for the re-election of Dr Alex Egbona as member of the House of Representatives for the Abi/Yakurr federal constituency.

They have also told all other contestants for the seat that there is no vacancy in the House of Reps federal constituency, since the MP has delivered on the promises he made during his 2019 election campaigns.

The organisation, will be working in partnership with 45 youth bodies drawn from the 23 council wards of Abi and Yakurr to achieve the re-election project of Egbona. They said in a statement on Friday that Egbona has done far better than all others who hitherto occupied the seat and deserved to be supported to return to the seat.

President of the group, Prince Michael Ekamon said that the youths also passed a vote of confidence on Egbona because they had heard of and also seen some of the people-oriented projects and programmes embarked upon by him.

Chairman of the organisation in Cross River State, Comrade Edmond Arikpo said in his response that Egbona was an example in how public officers should deal with their constituents. “We commend the honourable member for redeeming the constituency from the clutches and shackles of evil men who wanted to hold us to ransom,” he noted.
