C’River Rep Mourns As Constituents Die In Autocrash

“It is a black Tuesday for me and my family. I am truly unsettled over the death in an autocrash, of about 12 people from Ekori and Imabana, this morning. I have not been myself since the news got to me. But I pray God to console the bereaved families.”
These were the words of Dr Alex Egbona, the member representing the Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, following the road accident that claimed the lives of some persons believed to be natives of Ekori and Imabana, all of them from the federal constituency.
Egbona said in a statement on Tuesday that “this death is very painful. I can imagine what the bereaved families are going through at this time. The future of very promising sons and daughters of our federal constituency has been cut short.
“I am yet to get the full briefing on what must have led to the accident. I have also not been fully informed on the identities of all the persons involved. But my heart goes to the bereaved families as I pray for the repose of the soul of all the affected persons.

“This life is actually vanity. God understands why they had to die today. But I pray that we will never have this kind of experience again in our federal constituency or anywhere for that matter, in this state.
“As soon as I am able to know the families that have lost their loved ones, I will make efforts to reach out to them. May God give them the heart to bear this painful loss.”
