There have been reports of pockets of violence in parts of Odukpani, Ugep and Ogoja local governments is Cross River State, just a few hours before commencement of voting.

In Ogbia local government of Bayelsa, voting materials for wards 2, 3, 4 and 5 under Constituency 2 were said to have been carted away and destroyed by unknown thugs.
The state governor, Senator Douye Diri has condemned the act and has urged the IGP and Bayelsa CP to restore peace in the area
