The Sole Administrator of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Dr Clifford Ndu Walter, has described the gas explosion incident that occured at Nobpet filling station, located adjacent the Air Force Base in Port Harcourt, before Eliozu, as unfortunate.
Walter stated this on Friday, when he visited the place of the incident, which has wrecked havoc on some residents.
The residents lamented over the loss the fire outbreak has caused them as the inferno destroyed vehicles and other property worth millions of naira.
During the visit, the Obio/Akpor sole administrator assured the affected residents of government effort to combat such incidents.
Walter also expressed gratitude that no lives were lost, even as he sympathised with those the incident has left heartbroken.
