In their committement to the safety of lives and property of students, the management of the University of Calabar UNICAL, has vowed to take further actions against suspended Miss Patience Etim Ujong, if found guilty of assaulting a 100-level Geophysics student.
Ujong, a student of the institution from the department of Human Physiology, was suspended following the allegations of assault on Mr. Sunday Victor Mujinosowo.

This was revealed in a letter by the University Registrar, Dr. Chukwuka I. Icha.
According to Icha, the incident occured on June 9, 2025, between 9pm and 2am, in the hostel.
Ujong was said to have led a group of ‘Man ‘O’ War men to assault Mujinosowo, resulting in injuries requiring medical attention.
According to the letter, the alleged assault was considered gross misconduct and unacceptable behavior, violating the University’s matriculation oath and Students’ Handbook.
The letter further revealed that the university management has forwarded the case to the senate students’ disciplinary committee for further investigation, even as the management warned Ujong against campus presence during the suspension period, except when summoned by the Committee.
It added that Ujong will be held accountable for any further escalation or attacks on other students.
