State CIID Launch Probe Into Alleged Abduction, Assault Of 11-Year-Old Girl By Trio In Rivers

State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department SCIID, has commenced investigation into the alleged abduction and assault of an 11-year-old girl by a married man and two others in Rivers State.

The Police investigating team from the department has visited the alleged crime scene, as the suspect is still detained at State CIID as at the time of this report.

Recall that a man whose identity was revealed as Bro Joe and two other young men yet to be ascertained at Ogbogoro in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state were accused of abducting an eleven-year-old girl in the area.

It was alleged that the accused and the two young men intercepted and abducted the minor at about 7pm, February 15, when she was on an errand for her mother.

She was supposedly taken to an uncompleted building; there she was said to have been held captive for two days, chained and defiled.

The suspect was first detained at Ozuoba Police Division but was transferred by the order of the Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, to State CID.

Report revealed that Joe was arrested by combine effort of youth and Police. Father of the alleged victim, Mr. Anele Aleruchi said, “on 15th of February,2024 the mother sent her to buy drug, carry the name of the drug and gave her. Bro Joe met her on the road and said come let me show you something but she said no, my mummy sent me message, Bro Joe carried the girl with two other men, used clothe to tie her face and took her to an uncompleted building, kept her for two days.

“After two days they released her. When the girl came out after two days, we asked her what happened, she said Bro Joe took her to uncompleted building and two other men. She said when they took her to the uncompleted building, Bro Joe used his hand to put in her vagina and also used his manhood to put in her vagina severally.

“I want justice to take place. The girl is approaching 11-year-old. Medical result examination conducted on the minor shows she has been penetrated.” He explained.

In the meantime, National Coordinator of Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign, Mr. Prince Wiro, has called for thorough investigation into the alleged defilement and abduction case.

Wiro said that if found culpable, the suspect should be arraigned in court for the court to decide his fate.

The rights advocate warned persons pushing for ‘settlement’ of the case out of Police station to desist forth with.
