Senate Presidency: NCPC Drums  Support For Akpabio

National Coalition For Democratic Change (NCPC) has made a case for the emergence of Senator Godswill Akpabio as the next senate president.

In a statement, the national president, Sunday Micheal and Secretary Felix Umeh stressed that the former governor of Akwa Ibom State was fit for the office because he could take firm decisions and stabilise the polity.

“It is on record that since the inception of this Fourth Republic, south-south remains one one of the zones that has never produced the senate president, whereas the south east has produced about five senate presidents.

“Therefore, for equity, justice and fair play, which APC stands for, there is need to zone the senate president of the 10th NASS, not only to the the south, but to Akpabio for his immense contributions to the rebuilding of the party in the zone.”

The group further  congratulated all elected political office holders elect, including Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President-Elect, and thanked President Muhammadu Buhari, a the just Concluded elections.

“It was made possible by combined efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari, the President-elect,  Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s doggedness, the APC leadership at all levels, party supporters and the generality of Nigerians who believed in the  change mantra.”
