A rights activist in Rivers State, Enefaa Georgewill, has urged the state governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara to as a matter of urgency, pay demonstration teachers their seven years salary.
Georgewill started this while listing expectations of the people of the state from the governor. He said before Fubara will gain the support of Rivers people, he would have to meet certain expectations.
In addition to paying demonstration teachers their seven years salary, the rights activist charged the governor to, “constitute local government Civil Service Commission to administer pending issues of the 23 LGAs for the past 3 years.”
Other expectations he listed were that Fubara should, “pay Rivers State workers the N30,000 minimum wage as proposed by the law and not Wike.

“Resolve all the issues concerning pension and gratuity of our senior citizens.
“Hold town hall meetings across the 23 local government areas to get needs assessment of the people inorder to guide and prepare the 2024 Rivers State budget.
“Roll out empowerment scheme for genuine and running Rivers entrepreneurs and starters with feasible proposals.
“Draw up a two years employment program through tech, agriculture and production companies across the 23 local government.”
