News of the sudden demise of the Chief Executive Officer of Premium Eagle Media Limited, Mr Dotun Oladipo, has left friends and colleagues devastated, especially his mentee, Mr Ofonime Umanah.

Umanah, Publisher of TNN Newspapers, has been unable to sleep as he remembers Oladipo’s impacts on his life and career.

The TNN Publisher described Oladipo as his mentor, friend, ally and brother, noting that he was yet to recover from the shock.

In a heartbreaking tribute to his ‘Oga’, Umanah explained that, “hearing of the news of the demise of Mr Dotun Oladipo, the man I used to call my oga, left me devastated. I knew him when we both worked in The Punch. Since then, he we have maintained a steady relationship and I dare say that the late Oladipo has helped in my professional and business growth.

“He was instrumental to my membership of the Nigerian Guild of Editors in 2014 and also made it possible for me to join the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers, GOCOP. Oladipo has always been there for me.

“Last week, we spoke. We shared thoughts and contacts on a project I was working on. I was already looking forward to another opportunity of meeting him in Enugu next month for this year’s All Nigerian Editors Conference, ANEC, and later in October for this year’s GOCOP annual conference in Lagos. But my oga is no more.

“Throughout Tuesday night, sleep left me. Till now, I am yet to recover from the shock. I have lost a friend, a brother, an ally, a senior colleague, a mentor who was never tired of listening to and handling every challenge presented to him.
May God accept your kind soul, my oga.”
