The Rivers State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps NYSC, Mr Moses Oleghe, has charged the 2026 Batch B Stream II corps members deployed to the state to make efforts towards ensuring that they have a productive future through acquisition of skills.
Oleghe gave this charge when he flagged off the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development SAED, in-camp training programme for the over 3,584 corps members, at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam, Tai Local Government Area of the state.
The state NYSC boss emphasized the importance of skills, among which he said would create economic opportunities for them.
Oleghe urged the corps members to recreate the future they desire for themselves through skill acquisition.
His words: “Recreate the future you want for yourselves by acquiring a skill.
“Skill acquisition by all corps members is the new normal for the scheme and must be embraced wholeheartedly in order to ensure a gainful and sustainable life ahead.”
The NYSC coordinator further encouraged them to, “be an integral part of the SAED journey by taking ownership of it and rewriting the story of your lives.
“I want to reassure you of the guidance and support of staff, trainers, and all critical institutions in collaboration with the NYSC Scheme in powering the skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development program.”
In a welcome address, the SAED Assistant Director, Mrs. Carol Chukwu, enjoined the corps members to make a difference in their lives by taking the in-camp training very seriously.
Chukwu assured them that highly competent trainers with impeccable integrity, credibility, and experience have been assembled to impact them positively for next-to-nothing.
She appreciated the state coordinator and all camp officials for their appreciable and commendable support to the SAED committee.
