The Rivers State NYSC camp at Nonwa, Tail Local Government, is soon to be given a facelift and additional 1000 mattresses provided by the state government, according to the sole administrator, retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas.

The administrator made the pledge during the swearing-in of the 2025 batch b stream 1 members who are in the state for their one year national service. He was represented by the secretary to the state government, Prof Lucky Worika.
He told the corps members of the commitment of his administration to their security and welfare, noting that “1000 pieces of brand new mattresses and general renovation of hostels will be carried out to create a conducive camping environment for them.
In return, he urged the corps members to promote moral and ethical values in everything they do especially now that they have been formally inducted and sworn in into the NYSC as members.
He also challenged them to align themselves with his administration’s character reformation agenda by building a society full of integrity, mutual trust, and discipline.
The state coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe had enjoined the corps members to see themselves as the custodians of the hopes of Nigerians in building a nation of peace and economic prosperity.
He also charged them to change their mindset from negative perception of the country and become agents of positive change, builders of bridges of national unity and integration as well as torchbearers of a brighter future.
The administration of the oath of allegiance was administered by Justice Weli Amadi Chechey, who represented the Chief Judge of Rivers State. A total of 2,002 corps members were sworn in at the occasion comprising 804 males and 1198 females
