Rivers LG Bosses Laud NYSC’s Role in Nation-Building

In reaffirming their commitment to the welfare and security of corps members, the chairman of Tai Local Government Area, Dr. Mbakpone Friday Okpe and Ogu/Bolo, Chief Vincent Nemebioka, has donated food items to the 2025 Batch C corps members posted to Rivers State.

While Okpe gifted the corps members bull, 30 tubers of yam, four bags of garri and bunches of plantain, Ogu/Bolo chair gave fish, crayfish and other seafood.

They made the presentation at the State NYSC permanent orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam Tai.

Addressing the corps members, Okpe pledged his support, noting that he remained intentional about the security and welfare of corps members.

He said the gesture was borne out of what he described as his “deep-rooted love for NYSC, especially when considered that corps members helped lay the foundation of my life through proper grooming and mentoring.”

Also speaking, Nemebioka appreciated NYSC for “their lofty role in nation-building as well as the unity and integration of Nigeria.”

He assured the corps members of his administration’s determination and commitment to make their stay in Ogu/Bolo LGA fruitful and rewarding.

Nemebioka was represented at the occasion by his vice chairman, Dr. Eunice Alabo.

On his part, the State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, thanked the chairmen, describing their visit to the camp as an act of immeasurable love for the corps members and deliberate support to the NYSC.

He also appreciated them for the corps lodges built to ease accommodation challenges faced by corps members in the LGAs.
