Leaders of Ogoni land have paid a commiseration visit to Woji Community in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, following the murder of their son, Mr. Kenneth Nyebuchi Eke.
At the Palace of the Paramount Ruler of Woji, HRH Emeka George Ihunwo, the Ogoni leaders expressed their sympathy over the death of Eke which they described as irreparable.
The visit which was led by the Gbenemene of Ancient Bangha Kingdom, HRM King Baridam Suanu Yormaadam, was following the alleged involvement of their native in the case that led to the murder of the Woji Landlord.
Recall that Eke, younger brother of a former chairman of the LGA was said to have been Killed allegedly by Police Officers who were called by his tenant to arrest him for allegedly throwing the tenant properties outside.

The tenant who was confirmed to have been arrested alongside the suspected police officers, is said to be a native of Ogoni land.
Yormaadam, who was accompanied by the President of the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People MOSOP, Prince Biira, a former Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Niger Delta Developmental Commission NDDC, Chief Derek Mene, Mene Buan Sogho and HRH Frank Nulenam, expressed their heartfelt sympathy to the Woji people and Ikwerre ethnic nationality over the tragic incident.
He explained that the visit to the Woji Paramount Ruler and his Council of Chiefs was following the report in the media over a tragic incident in Woji Community involving an indigene, the police and an Ogoni son.
The Ogoni leaders also urged their natives residing in Woji, who may have fled the area because of the incident to return and go about their lawful businesses without fear of molestation, adding that the community was working with relevant authorities to achieve sustainable peace.
In their response, the Woji traditional ruler and his council of chiefs assured the Ogoni people of peace and tranquility in the area, adding that the peaceful co-existence and age long harmonious relationship between Ikwerre and Ogoni will be sustained.
