Woji Youth Demands Justice For Murdered Landlord

Woji Youth Association WYA, in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, has charged the state Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to as a matter of urgency, carry out thorough investigations and bring the killers of Mr. Kenneth Nyebuchi Eke, to book.

 

The aggrieved youth body in Woji Community also called on the state governor, Sir. Siminalayi Fubara, the Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Barr. Goerge Ariolu, civil society organizations and other relevant bodies to ensure that the murdered Eke gets justice.

WYA President, Mr. Kingsley Worlu Chioma, made this call shortly after videos and pictures, allegedly showing injuries and bruises on the body of the deceased surfaced.

 

It was gathered that the bruises and injuries in Eke’s body angered the youths who took to the street on a protest to register their grievance and call for justice for their brother who they said was gruesomely murdered.

Recall that Eke, younger brother of a former chairman of the LGA was said to have been allegedly Killed by Police Officers who were called by his tenant to arrest him for allegedly throwing the tenant properties outside.
The body of the deceased was alleged to have been discovered in Chococho, Etche, in an uncompleted building, in a manner suggestive of the fact that he was tortured to death.

Report, though unconfirmed, has it that the officers and the tenant have been arrested and presently detained at SCIID, Port Harcourt.
In his letter of protest made available to TNN, the WYA President said, “Woji Youth Association W.Y.A, on behalf of the peace-loving people of Woji Community, condemn the gruesome murder of one of our vibrant Youths, Mr. Kenneth Nyebuchi Eke, on the 17th day of November, 2023.
