The leadership and stakeholders of the Obio/Akpor Youth Council in Rivers State, has reiterated that they will continue to support the FCT Minister, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and the council chairman, Barr. George Ariolu.
This reaffirmation was made by the Obio/Akpor youth president, Mr. Chimenem Bobo Worlu, during a press briefing at his office, on Wednesday.
Worlu who described the support and commitment of the youths for Wike and Ariolu as unwavering, warned those he described as detractors to desist from trying to allegedly mislead the public.
The youth president of the local government who spoke on behalf of other Obio/Akpor youth leaders and stakeholders from various communities present during the briefing explained that, “the essence of this press briefing is to reaffirm our support to this great local government.
“We are here to reaffirm, restate, reiterate our unflinching, unwavering and firm support, commitment to our leader, the FCT Minister, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and our very own boss, the Obio/Akpor Local Government Council Chairman, Chief Barr George Ariolu.
“I am not here alone. With me here are critical stakeholders, leaders from various communities in Obio/Akpor.
“All we are saying is that Obio/Akpor youths are very much intact, we are intact. Just a few days, we’ve seen some level of purported defection from somewhere to nowhere. Men that were given opportunity to serve in various capacity and they failed woefully without achievement coming to mislead the people of Obio/Akpor, that is why the youths have come together to tell the entire world that Obio/Akpor youths are intact.
“Obio/Akpor is unmovable and remains under the leadership and the watch of the FCT Minister, Chief Barr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and the executive chairman of Obio/Akpor LGA, Chief Barr George Ariolu.”
On the resignation of the supervisor for youth, Worlu explained that “it is no longer news that the supervisor for youth has resigned from his duty. To us, it’s a personal decision, that’s why we want to clearly inform the general public that Obio/Akpor youths are very much intact.
“You can see the number of persons in attendance here. Critical stakeholders from various communities, to assure you that Obio/Akpor is intact and that whatsoever we are doing, we do it as a people, collectively because we are learned and cultured.
“We don’t make noise, we don’t believe in community inter house sports; when you see men that are supposed to stand firm running from pillar to post, bringing the inter house sports meant for primary and secondary school into political family or local government, it becomes childish and funny.”
He emphasized that “the purported news that Obio/Akpor youths are now with His Excellency, the Governor of Rivers State is a capital no, that is why as the youth president of Obio/Akpor with the support of these critical stakeholders from all the communities that made up Obio/Akpor, we are stressing that that news is false, not even one Obio/Akpor youth that is a stakeholder is with Sim Fubara, we remain loyal to Chief Barr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and Barr G.T Ariolu as the council chairman of Obio/Akpor, we are refuting that information that it is not true, you are a media person, you can see for yourself, so you are in a better position to tell the truth.”
