As condolences continue to pour in, the Rivers State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps NYSC, Mr Moses Oleghe, has urged family of late Senator Barinada Mpigi to take solace in his legacy.
Oleghe said this on Saturday, when he lead officials of the state NYSC on a condolence visit to the wife and family of Mpigi, at Koroma Community, Tai Local Government Area.
The NYSC team was received by the widow of the late senator, the Chairman of Tai LGA, Mr. Mbakpone Okpe, the registrar, Federal University of Environment, and Technology and younger brother of the late Senator, Dr. Monday Mpigi, as well as the head of the Mpigi extended family, Mr Venerable Mpigi.
Describing the loss as unfortunate, the NYSC boss encouraged the widow to see the incident as the will of God, noting that “death is the ultimate price which all mortals must pay someday.
“Take solace in the legacy left behind by the distinguished Senator, especially his positive impacts in the areas of youth empowerment, community development, and human capacity building.
“Late Senator Mpigi and NYSC Rivers State shared very strong bond and love, that bond made him to be in the forefront of the relocation of the NYSC permanent orientation camp to his LGA by the state government as well as his benevolence to personally build a modern corpers lodge for corps members serving in Koroma-Tai, his community.”
Meanwhile, the NYSC coordinator made a stop over at Koroma corpers lodge, where he commended the corps members for ensuring adequate maintenance of the lodge.
Also, he hailed the corps members for “their high sense of discipline and good conduct and charged them to live in brotherly love as members of one big NYSC family at all times.”
